FAQ

Do I need an attorney?+

If you have been charged with a crime, you need to talk to an attorney. If you were arrested but released without charges, you should speak to an attorney. We can help you determine whether you really need to hire someone to represent you.

What about public defenders?+

If you are unable to afford to hire an attorney, the court may appoint a public defender to represent you for little or no cost. Public defenders are hardworking, professional attorneys. You generally apply for a public defender at your first court appearance.

Should I give the police a statement so they know my side of the story?+

If you are the subject or target of an investigation, we strongly recommend that you talk to an attorney before you talk to the police.

How do I get started?+

The fastest way to get started is to call us at 612.333.7309. We can discuss your case and set up an appointment to met at our office.

Do you offer payment plans?+

Generally the representation fee is paid upfront. However, under special circumstances, we will work with you to try to develop a payment plan you can afford.

What if I just want a second opinion?+

If you already have an attorney, we can provide an independent review your case so you are in a better position to make informed decisions about how you want your case handled.

Our office is located in downtown Minneapolis, near both the state and federal courthouses, but our practice is spread across the state. You are welcome to come visit us in person, but we can also conduct most business over the phone or by video conference.

The main entrance to our building is located on the corner of Second Avenue South and Fourth Street. Our office is in suite 230, which is on the second floor in the skyway.
